ALBUM BIO (Officially from Kathy Stommel) "Singing Cowboys Don't Talk" is dedicated to my late father, Paul Greier. He was truly a singing cowboy. Not long before he passed away, my dad called me… and encouraged me to attend Donna Ulisse's songwriting workshop. I attended, wrote "Where the Good News Rings Out" with Donna and Jan Springer, and recorded it. We played it for him while he was on life support. After he passed, I realized the deepest connection I had with my dad was through music. The idea for "Singing Cowboys Don't Talk" came to me. Donna Ulisse not only co-wrote the title track with me but also agreed to produce the entire album. Her encouragement, talent, and southern love—along with the extraordinary musicianship of Jake Stargel, Harry Clark, Jason Carter, Jeff Partin, Nate Burie, and Chris Latham—brought these life songs to breathing reality. Thank you to my husband, Gary, and sons, Miles, Allen, and Isaiah, for their unwavering support. This album is for anyone who has ever found healing, love, or purpose in a song when words alone weren't enough." — Kathy Stommel. Ready for immediate use by media, radio, playlists, and promoters. Song Bio:

Driven by my deep connection to the soulful grit of country blues and the haunting tones of slide guitar, I was inspired to craft a song that immerses listeners in the sound I imagine echoing from the porches of Mississippi. I’ve always been drawn to the timeless music of legendary blues artists like Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, and Taj Mahal. With this song, I wanted to capture the spirit of what it would feel like to ride through the Delta in an old Cadillac, stopping at weathered porches to jam with the bluesmen of old. Listening to that authentic country blues has always felt healing to me, a sound that speaks to my bones and my soul. "Way Down In Mississippi" became my own personal journey—a ride that carried me far away from everything that wasn’t rooted in the deep, heartfelt resonance of the blues.

Song Bio: Co-written with Donna Ulisse, Wild, Wild Heart tells the story of a woman struggling to believe in her own worthiness of love and respect. Inspired by one of my clients, the song explores the emotional conflict she faces while entangled in a relationship with a married man who repeatedly promises that one day they’ll be together—after his children are grown. With a heart as big as the moon, shaped by an upbringing that makes it hard for her to accept she deserves true, honest love, she remains caught in a cycle of hope and heartache. This song speaks to the vulnerability of a "wild heart" yearning for love yet hesitant to demand the love she truly deserves.

Artist Bio: Kathy Stommel is an authentic country bluegrass and country blues singer/songwriter whose music flows from the depths of her soul with a deep emotional connection that resonates with audiences. With a passion for storytelling and a voice that touches hearts, Kathy’s journey has been shaped by love, loss, and resilience. After raising her three boys following the passing of her late husband to cancer, acquiring a professional license in counseling, and remarrying, she is making a powerful return to music with a highly anticipated CD featuring 12 deeply personal soul-stirring songs.

Kathy’s musical journey began when a professor at Lesley College, where she earned her degree in expressive therapies, recognized the unique way her voice moved people. He told her, “Something came out of your soul and touched people when you sang,” and with his encouragement, she pursued her passion at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Initially studying voice, she later shifted to songwriting, where she found her true community and honed her craft.

Now, after years away from the studio, Kathy’s music resonates more deeply than ever, blending the raw emotion of her personal experiences with the rich traditions of country and blues. Her new collection of songs invites listeners into a world of heartache, healing, and hope, reflecting the journey of a life well-lived and a spirit rekindled. Her highly anticipated CD, featuring 12 deeply personal songs, reflects the depth of her journey and the strength found in vulnerability.

The recent loss of her father, Paul Greier, a country western singer, deeply moved her and inspired her first release, Singing Cowboys Don’t Talk. Dedicated to her father, the song—and the entire collection—reflects the generational gift of music and how Kathy has come to realize that music communicates life, connection, and love more profoundly than words ever could.

Not long before he passed away, Paul encouraged Kathy to attend a songwriting workshop led by one of his favorite bluegrass singers, Donna Ulisse, believing Donna’s style reflected Kathy's own. Following his advice, Kathy co-wrote Where the Good News Rings Out with Donna and Jan Springer. Paul was thrilled with the song, but tragically passed away the day before he was to visit Nashville to hear it live. The song was played for him while on life support, and afterward, his family discovered the song’s lyrics on his computer as he had been learning it.

This poignant experience helped Kathy understand that the connection she had with her father was through music. His ability to light up a room and communicate through song inspired the title track, Singing Cowboys Don’t Talk. To bring this project to life, Kathy teamed up with Donna Ulisse, who produced the album. Kathy is deeply grateful to Donna, as well as to the talented musicians who contributed their gifts, including Chris Latham, Jake Stargel, Harry Clark, Jeff Partin, Jason Carter, Nate Burie, and Dreama Stephenson for her creative photography.

Kathy's journey has come full circle, and with her 12-track CD, she blends personal stories with the rich traditions of country and blues. She is forever thankful for the love and support of her husband Gary and her three sons—Miles, Allen, and Isaiah—as she embarks on this new chapter.

I felt his immense heart most clearly when he was singing and playing his guitar. After his passing, I came to realize that our strongest bond was through music. My father often shared with me interviews with John Prine and YouTube videos of Willie Nelson and other country legends whose songwriting moved him deeply. When I visited him in Virginia, he would proudly invite me to perform in his Bluegrass circles, beaming when I sang. It wasn’t until after he passed that I fully understood the profound connection we shared through music—a bond that spoke louder than words ever could.
